Hot summer for spotting!

It has been a warm summer and Platespotting is hotter than ever, right? =)

Personally I have only played for real since the summar 2012. I knew many players but wasn’t really interested until our vacation in Latvia 2012 where I saw the potential of the Latvian number plate system. In Latvia they have only two letters and then a consecutive number series from 1 to 9999. What caught my eye was that they don’t use zeros as fillers like they do in Sweden, for ex “XXX 001”, so you can for real see the licenceplate “1”, then “2” and so on. The fact you also can go up to 9999 is also a greater challenge then the maximum “999” here in Sweden.

So I started sometimes in the beginning of July and by the end of our vacation the 28th of July I have spotted 19 numbers with a daily best of 5 numbers the 19th of July!

Inspired by this success I also started playing back home in Sweden but it took almost 5 month (!) before I saw “001” in beginning of January. Number “002” was not easier with a spot date of 2014-05-25!! By that time I had already spotted 8 more numbers in Latvia during some weekends and holiday trips so I can for real say that my game in Sweden has been hard.

But since then it has been gone much better and my Latvian game is crushed by my Swedish game (of course since I only spend about 6-7 weeks in Latvia every year). Currently my Latvian game is waiting for number 54 when my Swedish is already on 110.
